First Things First: Week 1

Today I'm supporting one of my favorite blog friends, Hallie from Life: Oceanside, and her new link-up!
It's definitely going to be a fun one! :) And it gives us all a chance to get to know each other a little better. So make sure you check it out, and link-up!

What was your first job?
I worked at a rec center as a referee. I was 14 and it was super exciting ;) I reffed volleyball games and soccer games. I also had a front row seat to how ugly parents can get. And it starts young you guys, the first time I ever got yelled at was when I was reffing a soccer game. The age of the kids? Like 4 and 5. At that age, all they know how to do is go for the ball, so they end up in a big circle around the ball. When it goes out of bounds, it really is a complete tossup as to which team touched it last. And parents would get MAD when they thought it should have been on the other team. It was insane, but it did teach me a few things about how not to act when I have children playing sports ;)
First car?
It was a gold silver 2000 Nissan Maxima :) It really was silver, but I promise you, this car changed colors! And the first time I got it was at a party at my Grandma's house because the car was kept in their garage so I wouldn't see it. I swear, it was gold.. I told everyone it was gold. The next day when I came outside, it was totally silver. And it said silver on the title, so that's what it was supposed to be. But ask anyone that saw that car, the only reason they knew it was mine was because of the Cardinals sticker I had on the back. It always looked to be a different color depending on where you were standing and what the lighting was like. I got in my first fender bender in that car, and it was with me for about 3 years. Then it started majorly breaking down last year, and I sold it to a guy at the car dealership for $500. Him and his friends were going to fix it up (obviously for WAY cheaper because they knew how to do all the work) and give to a friend of their's that was having a baby and couldn't afford a new car. So, it all really worked out nicely :)
First date?
I honestly don't even know what I would call my first date. A lot of the guys I dated in high school were friends first, and so official first dates, I really don't remember. Is that bad? :/
How about my last first date? Well I had just gotten home from a trip to Salt Lake City to see my mom. Still in "airport" clothes, jeans and a sweatshirt, with my hair in a ponytail. The Husband picked me up and we went to the movies to see Where the Wild Things Are. We were automatically so comfortable with each other, and it was great :) I also got my last first kiss that night too! ;) We graduated high school together, he moved in, we got engaged, and now we've been happily married for over a year. I'd say it worked out pretty well ;) Love you hubbs!

  1. ohh my gosh you were a ref?!?
no freaking way could I EVER do that job. I played on a traveling basketball team for 5 years and I can tell you that us, our coaches, and our parents were NOT nice to those guys!
I hate being mean but when you are in the love of the game you DON't think about the things you are saying.
ugh, I know P is going to be THAT dad, and I am going to have to be the calm mom that keeps everyone on their toes and minding their manners!:):)

thanks for linking up lady love:)

  6. Your last first date sounds pretty great actually! Just the way I like things too :) So casual and comfortable. Much better than being a crazy nervous wreck! My story was pretty similar, in that our first date was a week-day lunch hour date at Zaxby's! So easy, and yet so nice! Thanks for linking up with us today!
